As with so many of the most heated and contentious issues of our current time and culture far too often the parties on opposing sides, fiery and passionate as they may be, are not in fact engaging in the same conversation. It may seem like it, the surface content of the arguments may sound like they are debating the same subject matter but when you take a step back and look a bit deeper it becomes clear they are actually arguing two very different things. Such is the case with most of the debates about the current state of minimum wages.
There is no denying any topics involving economies, lifestyles, employment, or personal finances are inevitably complex and deeply impactful at a personal level. The challenges and problems are multi-layered and complicated as are any potential solutions. The issue of minimum wages is one which impacts the vast majority of the workforce. Many are either earning minimum wage or their current wages are based upon the minimum as a starting point. And it is a topic those in management and hiring positions are constantly grappling with, all the more so now.
There is also no denying we would all rather make more money than less so the push for a higher wage at any level…
