Joe Rogan is popular for a reason. He’s an engaging, genuine, curious guy devoid of any particular agenda or angle beyond exploring whatever ideas catch his attention through long-form conversation while also having a laugh. He is willing to talk about pretty much anything with anyone. He is not out to try and debate them or defeat them. Just to engage with them. And he takes us along for the ride.

His gift for the gab and sense of humor prompted his childhood friends to urge him to try his hand at stand-up comedy, even though it had not yet been something he had considered himself. Starting small, his comedy career grew consistently with gigs at well-known comedy clubs eventually resulting in national attention, acting jobs in television and movies, hosting gigs on shows like Fear Factor, and a several year turn as a commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championship series.

Having trained in martial arts starting in his early teens, going on to win a national Tae Kwon Do championship and exploring a brief stint in amateur kickboxing, Rogan was well versed in the martial arts world.
