We talk about relaxation as something we do at set times and in particular ways. Taking ten minutes to grab a coffee. A short walk to clear our heads. A weekend away to unwind and recharge. A full vacation to leave it all behind and experience something new. Or we enhance and elevate the concept giving it a somewhat spiritual intimation and dub it ‘meditation’. The truth is these are all examples of methods for training and developing a skill we can use in every moment of our lives. We can reach a point where we are always relaxing or meditating.
Life has always come with its sets of challenges, stresses, risks, and fears regardless of the era and general state of the world. There is a great deal of talk about our current world being more stressful than any other point in human history and in many ways, though not all, this is certainly true.
Every generation of teenagers feels their lives are infinitely more difficult, complicated, and forever on the verge of epic disaster than the generations before them. Part of this is the natural biproduct of pubescent hormones and emerging individuality but as societies and technologies advance each new generation finds itself faced with questions, dangers, and new unexplored phenomena their close…
